Sunday...

Sunday we went diving to Lighthouse wall and little house. Brad was the captain and had the best drawings by far. It's not big...it's little house. You might see some butterfly fish...and nurse sharks. We did the two tank morning dive and I decided to do the afternoon dives also. I like to dive more than Jason and he was happy vegging out in the condo. I went to Breaker's Cut Back Wall and Maggie's maze on the afternoon dive.

We ate in the condo again for dinner but didn't have a lot of choices for beverages. Remember that I asked Jason on Saturday how we were doing on beer? Well...we apparantly drank more than we had been on Saturday because we were basically out of beer on Sunday! We managed though. Here are some of the exciting things we saw. Can you guess that we had two different cameras?

This was a huge green moray eel...

I think these are french angelfish...

A trumpet fish...

dork alert...nice beanie...

The afternoon dive...

A black spotted eel...

Why I don't like swim thru's--they are suppose to look like the second picture not the first...

a puffer fish picture for jason...

Saturday...

We woke up on Saturday to a very windy morning. We went to the North side of the island on Thursday's dive and both Jason & I weren't feeling all that great on the surface interval. We had to wait about 45 minutes on the rocky boat...it was my first experience with sea sickness but I swear it was the orange I ate. I wondered how the dive would go today with the wind and the waves...but we went out and had a good dive. Today is the day we did River of Sand and Big House.

Saturday's sunrise...

After the dives we went back and had lunch on the balcony and decided to grab our gear and head over to the west end and 7 mile beach. That is where there is a lot of cool shore dives and some geocaches. It took us about 45 minutes to get over there from our condo...our first stop was H E L L :) It is basically a few buildings that is a tourist trap that sells a bunch of stuff...what, I don't know cuz there wasn't a lot going on in Hell on a Saturday with no cruise ships in town! We pulled in and realized the geocache was on the other side of the fence so we moved the car. We were now in the parking lot with the post office but it was closed (sorry, we couldn't mail you a post card from Hell--but I also forgot the addresses at the condo). There was one car and a lady hanging out...we went out back and got the pictures of the ironshore rock and the geocache which Jason got to be in--Lucky Jason. We went back out to find another geocache and the lady was still there...there was someone in the car she was talking to. You gotta love geocaching in tourist areas--you can pretend to be taking pictures of signs, roosters, etc. while hunting for the cache! She did leave and we were able to make the find!

After Hell, we headed over to get another virtual. It was at the Turtle farm and there was an $18 charge per person to get in. I didn't want to see the Turtle farm and a geocache wasn't worth $36 to us. We took a picture by the sign instead.

We headed over to the Cracked Conch and the Turtle Reef shore dive. We were on the fence as far as a shore dive. We heard the shore diving is amazing but we were kind of tired from diving. We went to check it out to make a decision...and it was too rough for them to put the ladder in. Guess our mind was made up! That's really was ok because on Wednesday, I realized that I had forgotten our Scuba C-Cards so we wouldn't have been able to dive anyway!

We went down the coast of 7 mile beach and found a lot of geocaches. There is a beach there called Cemetery Beach that is really a nice beach. We followed a lady with two rafts that were already blown up. It was a narrow path and she decided to hold the rafts above her head...and she proceeded to pop one of the rafts with a thorn on one of the branches. Doh!

We were mostly successful in our geocaching hunt. There was one we had to go back and get another day...I swear I looked right in the area but didn't look down? I don't know how that is possible but we didn't find it today and it was there on Wednesday. We also had a geocache that stated the coordinates are old--the actual cache is about 50 feet away inside the fence/gate. Geocachers have permission to go in the gate...so I did. And a pit bull came running out of a dog house. I quickly backed out of the yard...the dog was very friendly but still looked like a pit bull and scared the crap out of me!

We stopped for Gelato (yum...just like ice cream)...I was boring and had mint chocolate chip and vanilla...Jason had Guinness and butterscotch. We decided to head back home...we were eating in and having spaghetti and hamburger with the sauce. I asked Jason how we were doing on beer because the liquor stores are not opened on Sundays...he said we had plenty. On the way back to the condo, the car started making weird noises...and we realized how bad Jason had gotten bit up at Roland's on Friday. It was amazing because usually I am the one who gets eaten alive...but not this trip. I started to count...11, 20, forget it!

We then realized what the 'weird' noise from the car had been...the muffler basically fell off without detaching from the car. You could hear us a mile away!

Saturday Scuba diving...oops, it was actually Friday but this entry is done so tough :)

Ok...we got our dives down. Most of the dives started with a deep wall dive and then a shallower coral reef dive. Thursday we went to Black Rock Drop-off and Roger's Reef...Friday we went to High Rock Drop-off and Ironshore Gardens...today we went to Hollow Rock Drop-off (ok, just kidding but I was seeing a pattern). Today we went to River of Sand for our morning dive. We were on the Nauti-Cat boat and the captain was Mo--who I later found out is one of the owners. He said the site was named this because of the finger-like coral at the site that branch out to the the reef wall...it is rumored that if you were to sit in the sand between the coral you would eventually fall off the wall because the sand is like a river there. Mo said that is bull crap, he has tried it! The second dive site we went to was Big House...pay close attention to the curtains-they are new, we have lovely furniture here also :)

Here is a view of the condo's from the boat. The left picture is the two bedroom condo's...the right is the one bedroom--our's is on the second floor, the farthest to the right. We had breakfast every morning and lunch after the dives on the balcony.

We tried to capture some of what we were seeing in these pictures...not so great pictures, sorry.

It is always fun to go thru the pictures and try to figure out what is in the picture...this is a crab!

These are two HUGE things we saw...a lobster about the size of my arm and a grouper that was at least 2 feet long! Also a very pretty parrot fish...

Signing off for now...I thought of my brother today...I think I found his brain! He is always looking for it at the Milwaukee Zoo...
